Device Requirements and Supported Browsers
Thinkers can use PCs, Macs, or iPads to participate in ThinkTank Sessions. Session Leaders should only design and lead Sessions from a desktop or laptop, and should not attempt to design and lead Sessions from an iPad, tablet, or mobile device.
ThinkTank is accessed through a web browser, and the ThinkTank iPad app is available in the Apple App Store. The ThinkTank iPad app is intended only for Thinker participation in Sessions, not for Leaders running Sessions.
ThinkTank and ipads
An iPad's compact size, mobility, and long battery life make the device an appropriate choice for many Sessions. However, these devices have less processing power and network capacity than laptops. If you are planning to lead a Session that will be highly interactive (hundreds of Thinkers participating for example), iPads may become slow or unresponsive during peak loading times. Additionally, some Thinkers may struggle with adding contributions on an iPad, so if your Session includes numerous or longer contributions, consider providing alternative devices.
Client Device Requirements and Supported Browsers
A list of client device requirements and supported browsers is provided below. It should be noted that the technical specifications of client devices can impact the Thinker experience in a Session.
Client Device Requirements
- 1.5 GHz or higher processor
- 1GB or more RAM
- Google Chrome (recommended)
- Safari (Macintosh or iPad only recommended)
- Internet Explorer 11
- Microsoft Edge 15 or lower versions
If you use the Chrome browser on a desktop or laptop computer when participating in Sessions, you may experience zooming functionality when you attempt to scroll. If this occurs, enable the 'Enable Viewport Meta Tag' property by completing the following steps:
- In the Chrome browser address bar, enter the following text:
- Press Ctrl (Command) + F and search for 'Enable Viewport Meta Tag' shown below:
- Click on the blue Enable link.
